Ania Wagner is a concept artist. She produces furniture that sits on the border between function and sculpture. The fluid form and appealing silhouettes she creates are a result of her artist vision encapsulating the world around her. And she uses local materials as much as possible in her creations, in order to produce something using minimal waste and pollution. This eco-friendly perspective, combined with attention to detail, is seen in the above pictured Barnacle Seat. It uses sustainably harvested ash and reclaimed industrial felt, and its modern spoke-wheel form is perfectly in line with the minimalist, modern trends in interior design today.

The Cube Chair by Svilen Gamalov screams modern design with its unique shape and bold color choices. Interestingly, the designer credits 1950’s design as well as popular elements from today with inspiring this unique design. No matter what its inspiration, I’m pretty sure this chair is on its way to plenty of attention.

This table is just fun to look at. The Shibafu Table made from 56 slender colored acrylic feet that are randomly arranged and meet a transparent acrylic top. It has been designed to look as if the legs are soaking under water, and it achieves this as its colors are reflected and refracted through its top. See more from designer Eammanuelle Moureaux here.

Lindsay Jo Holmes hand-makes these stylish earrings out of the remnants of used skateboards, collecting old and damaged boards from her local skate shop. "Smile" is the new armchair by Sand & Birch, the renowned Luxury Design Studio that is well known for a perfect combination of shapes, and materials that are as much sculptural as functional. More than a simple chair, "Smile" is characterized by the clash between the fullness and compactness of its design and the smooth curvature of the seat, reminiscent of a smiling mouth. This casual and witty armchair is going to be available in two versions: blue or white produced in hard and varnished polyurethane, or covered with velvet, cotton, and silk, in grey and white. To say my husband is a total cycling junkie would be a complete understatement; the man would ride coast to coast if I let him. Since spring has officially sprung and as the temperatures steadily rise, he is spending more and more time pedaling his heart out all around town. Biking is obviously one of [...]

Anyone can appreciate smart product design, and the Infinite USB is just that. My laptop has 2 USB ports and sometimes it’s just not enough. Apparently others agree or at least designer Gonglue Jiang did.

With Infinite UBS each plug is also a port, so there’s no limitation on how much tech you can use at one time. This project is already getting plenty of attention so hopefully this will be available soon. It has already won a 2010 IF Concept award. Learn more about this cool concept and talented design here.
