With the holidays right around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about how to fit all of your family and friends in your home. While I hope you’ve figured this out for Thanksgiving since it’s tomorrow, there are many more holidays right around the corner to consider as well. Expandable tables are always a great idea, since they seat many while taking up much less space when not in use. Of course we’ve all seen expandable tables before, but the Stella Expandable Table from Cecilia Olsson takes it to another level.

This small table is perfect for apartments and other smaller living spaces. Its top conveniently transforms to make a great workspace. When you have company this table really expands like you can see in the last image here. What do you think?
Have a great holiday! I’ll be back Friday so be sure to stop by while you’re recouping from turkey overload and morning door buster sales

For our urban living friends, we often hear the complaints of having very limited space despite a great geographical location. That is why I was excited to see this small room furniture concept created by Isis Design of Germany. It appears as a normal size box that is attractively finished in white. When opened the box becomes a bed and sitting area giving new meaning to the word “stow away bed”. Hopefully, this product will be on the market in the near future. Via and the design blog.

Reclaiming discarded items and showing them in a new light is a great trend in eco-friendly interior design products, and Deckstool does this with a flourish. Using a unique technique, they take old, used skateboards and reconfigure them to become useful once again, as stools or side tables. Perfect for a college dorm, a trendy loft, or an edgy commercial venture, these stools bring a re-fab, bright, colorful aura to any room. Rather than throwing away that old skateboard, you can send it off to Deckstool and they’ll reconfigure it for you into a compact, versatile, and sturdy seat or surface that you can incorporate into any wild design you can dream up.

In designer Ilkka Suppanen’s creation “Babol”, a beautiful silkscreen featuring circles in a soft green stand out in the room setting. Behind the silkscreen lies useful storage furniture which always comes in handy to put away possessions that otherwise become clutter. The storage container uses two push doors to open up the space that measures 50 cm x 140 cm x 145 cm. Castor wheels are an option on Babol should you wish the piece to be portable. Silkscreen circle color options include green, blue, black or mat black. Find the product: here.

I’m not a huge fan of video games, but I am a huge fan of Christmas. These caught my eye not only because they are an unusual addition to the tree, but because plenty of my friends are into gaming and would probably love these. Sold as a set of 7 (including the traditional NES controller and more current additions like the Wii and Playstation) and in your choice of several colors, this set of ornaments comes in at a pretty reasonable $25. Check it out here.
