Recipe Radar (14.06.2013 17:53h): Basil Chimichurri
I bought a huge thing of basil at the grocery store that I was supposed to plant, but being that it was raining cats and dogs outside, I decided that I was going to use it all up. Rather than making the standard batch of pesto with it, I wanted to try something new. Since I was making steak last night, chimichurri sauce was the first thing that came to mind. I had never heard of chimichurri being made with basil, but I thought let me Google it and sure enough, I found what I was looking for! I used ... [Link] [Cache]Product Pick (12.06.2013 13:37h): Step
Toss out the old dingy step ladder that’s been passed down from your grandparent’s grandparents and replace it with the fabulously stylish Step, this week’s Product Pick. Of if you weren’t lucky enough to inherit one of those and use a flimsy IKEA stool to reach high places, the Step is far more sturdy and appealing. Designed by Iacoli & McAllister, the Step is made from a matte black powder-coated frame with brass hinges. The steps are made from oak with a pink wash, giving it a sweet, almost feminine touch. Unfortunately, Step is not currently in production, but hopefully ... [Link] [Cache]Katie (11.06.2013 19:30h): Jet Lag
I’m feeling a bit jet lagged after traveling to the beautiful island of Bora Bora last week. Whenever I travel to the UK, which is five hours ahead, I never feel as sluggish and unmotivated as I have after my return from this trip – which was 6 hours behind. They say you need a day for each hour to recover, but I’m hoping it won’t take me the full six days! Perhaps my tiredness and lack of ambition is coming from the fact that I left such an unbelievably gorgeous place. We stayed in one of the bungalows over ... Thank goodness someone told me it was Father’s Day this upcoming Sunday, or else I would have thought it was the following week and been completely unprepared! Since it’s only Monday, you have a few days left to pick up a gift for Sunday, or just enough time to have something shipped. Are the fathers in your life easy to shop for? Most of the time, we just get my dad plain old ties and dress shirts, so for this gift guide, we’re staying practical but adding some fun and color to the mix. Here’s what we’re thinking for this ... Happy Frday!!! Do you have any exciting plans this weekend? I’m traveling back home after an exotic island vacation. From the looks of it, it seems that ill be heading home to tropical storm Andrea – whoo hoo! My island getaway has presented me with an amazingly comfortable bed with a romantic canopy, similar to the bed shown in the space above. So enticing and flowy, this looks like it would be quite easy to recreate. Assuming you have the right bed with the tall posts – just add some white curtains and the island vibe is yours all year, ... Lately the look of polka dots can be a bit whimsical to me, almost a bit childish for lack of a better word. But this bathroom here doesn’t look that way to me at all, it looks mature and stylish, glamorous even. Maybe because of the black and white color scheme, or the continuation of the design from the walls up to the ceiling. What are your feelings on polka dots within decor in general? How about in this bathroom – do you love this look? [Image] [Link] [Cache]Katie (04.06.2013 22:40h): Malibu Magic
Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Los Angeles and several of its surrounding suburbs. On one of our afternoons out there, we jumped into our rental car and headed to Malibu, just driving up and down the coast. Looking at all of the beautiful homes and the gorgeous views kept us occupied for hours. On my next trip out there, I can’t imagine staying in a hotel…I’ll prefer to rent a home close to the beach. The exteriors of the homes in Malibu are to die for, and I can’t even imagine what the interiors look like. Now ... Katie (03.06.2013 22:49h): Banana Juice
Happy Monday! Dd you enjoy the first full weekend of Summer? It’s amazing how the vibe changes once Memorial Day passes. Over the weekend, I was introduced to banana juice and I’m quite positive it will become my staple for the Summer. A glass in the morning with breakfast has been so refreshing, and I’m thinking adding a bit of rum to it will be great for afternoons by the pool. Being that I am currently on vacation, I haven’t made this banana juice at home, but I’ve spent some time researching different recipes. I’ve read in a few places ... Katie (28.05.2013 12:33h): Hot Pink & Lucite
This awesome lamp combines two of my favorite things: hot pink and lucite. Isn’t it fabulous? And guess what? It’s $29.99!! Gotta love Target…. The real reason I was initially drawn to this lamp is it’s similarity to the Bourgie Lamp. If you’re not familiar with the Bourgie Lamp, we had a great post [with tons of pics] on it last year. The Bourgie Lamp can be quite expensive in it’s originality, especially when springing for the gold or silver model. Thus, there are a TON of knock-offs. [Which even Target has!] Although many people have problems with knock-offs of ... [Link] [Cache]Cade (28.05.2013 05:31h): Pool Tables – 50 Super Cool Styles and Pictures

For this week, and likely for the next few weeks, we’re switching up the Weekly Six. Instead, we’ve got an awesome Product Pick for you: Indoor Fairy Lights. When I saw the line “Indoor Fairy Lights,” I wasn’t sure what to expect. Then as I clicked through to the page, I was completely excited by what I saw – there are so many fun options! First of all, I love the heart wreath of lights. It would be so pretty and romantic in a bedroom. And the idea of lighting up a floral bouquet with these lights? Great idea, especially ... Do you have a lot if family photos in your home? I don’t, but I’ve been printing a bunch out for a special event and I’m thinking I want to incorporate a style like these canvases above. All you do is paint the edges of a canvas black – or whatever color you like – and mod podge the photo to the surface. Then if you prefer, you can mod podge over the photo as well. So easy and the effect looks awesome. These would be great for displaying wedding photos, don’t you think? View the full DIY [here.] [Link] [Cache]Recipe Radar (23.05.2013 12:01h): On the Grill
